MonoLuxシリーズは、１つの量子カスケードレーザー（QCL）を内蔵する波長可変外部グレーティング共振器型量子カスケードレーザーシステムです。本システムは中心波長の±5%の波長可変レンジを持ちます（オプションでもっと広いレンジが可能）。QCLとコリメート光学系が密封されたレーザーヘッドは、トラブルフリーのオペレーションを可能にします。MonoLuxはレーザーヘッド・ドライバー、制御用コンピュータがセットで提供されるターンキーシステムです。
QCLは200～500 nsのパルス幅・デューティーサイクル50%の繰り返し0.5～2 MHzの擬似CWモードで駆動します。選んだ波長によっていは、平均パワーは中心波長で300 mWを超えます。MonoLuxは100%のデューティーサイクルで駆動することによりCWにすることも可能です（オプション）。本システムは静かなオペレーションを可能にする、ファンなしの受動冷却になります。
MonoLuxは外部共振器をDFB量子カスケードレーザーに置き換えるタイプも可能です。このバージョンは波長可変レンジがかなり小さくなりますが、CW駆動時は線幅が大分狭くなります。
